| 1589: The Cry That Became a Name
The history of Oriv is a story of seeking refuge. Legend has it that, during the Tatar raids, fugitives reached a mountain ridge and discovered a remarkable valley below.
A deep ravine, sheltered on all sides and crossed by the Stynavka River, made one of the settlers exclaim:
«Oh, what a beautiful valley!»
The relief of finding safety became forever embedded in the village’s name. Since then, Oriv has been a refuge for those who value a life in harmony with the sheltering mountains.
